About Me

My name is Kelli Keefer and I am currently in my 15th year of teaching secondary business and computer science. I knew I wanted to be a teacher when I was in elementary school. I graduated from Northwest Missouri State University in May of 2003 with a bachelor of science degree in Business Education and Business Economics. I started my teaching career at Clarinda High School and then went on to teach in four other districts: Ruthven-Ayrshire, Mount Pleasant, Waukee, and Knoxville where I am currently in my third year. I earned my MBA from Wayne State College in May 2010. I am currently working on a second master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Northwest Missouri State University. I will graduate in May of 2019.

I married my husband, Trenton, on March 21, 2008 in Las Vegas. He is a middle school assistant principal in Knoxville. We have four children: Alexis (15), Noah (13), Hayden (9), and Nolan (8). Our children love sports so we spend a lot of time watching football, volleyball, basketball, track, soccer, and baseball. We also enjoy running and are training for a half-marathon – this will be my 6th one!

I am very passionate about education and strive to make each day meaningful for the students in my classroom. My goal for this blog is to share instructional practices that will improve student engagement and achievement. I look forward to sharing strategies that have worked well along with things that were not so successful. I also hope to learn helpful strategies from other educators. I look forward to sharing with all of you!
